The Right Property Group operates short-term rental accommodation, where the booking itself is the smallest part of the job. Behind every reservation sits availability, turnover, housekeeping, maintenance, and the coordination between them.

We have worked with the group for a number of years as their development partner, building and extending the platform that carries that operation.

The Challenge

Off-the-shelf booking software models a booking as a transaction. For an operator, a booking is the trigger for a sequence of operational work that has to happen in the right order, against real constraints, with real people acting on it.

The gap between those two models is where most rental operators lose time. They end up running the business in spreadsheets alongside the booking system, because the booking system does not represent the work the business actually does.

How We Worked

We built around the group's own workflows rather than asking them to adopt someone else's. That means the platform's structure reflects how their operation is organised, and changes to the operation can be reflected in the platform without a re-architecture.

The relationship has been continuous rather than project-shaped. Work arrives as the business changes, gets specified, built, and released, and the platform moves forward in steps rather than in occasional large rewrites.
