Earlier in his career, Shailesh worked closely with systems that looked complete on launch but began to strain as real operations took over. Teams worked around limitations. Small changes became risky. Reliability slowly eroded, not because of bad engineering, but because the systems were never designed for how the business actually ran.

What stood out was a pattern. Most system failures were not caused by scale alone. They were caused by early design decisions made without enough understanding of real workflows, dependencies, and long-term ownership.
